This album is a collection of the bands most original and impressive live performances from the 1997 to 2005 period. Although these gripping, partly improvisational compositions were recorded at different times and on different locations, we tried to preserve the magical aura of the integrity and drive that is characteristic of this legendary bands live performances... The spacey and psychedelic jam-band vibe of Sky Cries Mary permeates this smouldering set of live tracks recorded over an eight-year period at various venues. While applause is barely audible - and the band's interaction with its audience is nonexistent - the material from different shows blends seamlessly to create a single cosmic concert experience. The sound on several of the previously unreleased compositions on this album was engineered by Krist Novoselic of Nirvana.
