Just 17 months after their eponymous debut, Cologne-based quintet ILLEGALE FARBEN release their 2nd album ,Grau" on Rookie Records. Grau" is even more tricky to pin down than their indiscriminate debut. Here are 12 songs which are unsuitable as a light breakfast, no good as background filler, probably not even good for your health - but nevertheless compelling, mesmerising, and fucking cool. On the one hand it is a headstrong and stubborn bitchslap, and on the other a borderline hysterical and a dadaistic tantrum. And whilst you are uncomfortably jostled, pushed and pulled between these emotional extremes, at no point do you wanna leave the dance floor. ILLEGALE FARBEN prove that they are a band who will not stand still, a band who abstain from musical repetition, a band who avoid the easy route. The resulting do-or-die urgency is confrontational and impossible to ignore.
