Yellofox
For The Dreamers
Yellofox's music has been influenced by songwriters from the 1960s and 1970s, such as Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Gram
Parsons and Jackson Browne, and in the cello of Jorieke de Vet you can hear Nick Drake in the distance, but also more
contemporary artists such as Bonnie Prince Billy, Eels, The Barr Brothers and Fleet Foxes are a source of inspiration.
What is particularly striking is the harmony vocals of De Vet and Mosmans, with polyphonic melodies that evoke the
atmosphere of America in the seventies. While the previous album was played with the help of guest musicians, Yellofox
now consists of a permanent line-up with which the new album has also been recorded. Mosmans and De Vet are surrounded
by four musicians on drums, double bass, guitar and violin, with many polyphonic vocals. Together they form a solid band
that alternates listening songs with rousing rhythmic songs, in which echoes of bluegrass, folk and indie pop resound.
The variation in songs and styles has managed to capture the six piece in a consistent band sound on the new album.
