particularly catchy songs in light music with less demanding, often sentimental lyrics. Schlager was never a purely
musical genre, rather it was always linked to the most popular styles of its time, from the beginnings with operetta
songs or swing to today's boom techno hut fun. With the advent of the mass media (records, radio and sound film) and
especially after the end of the ideological constraints after the Nazi era, there was no question that the
German-language hits of the 50s to the early 60s were strongly influenced by US rock'n'roll and Rhythm'n'Blues oriented,
often even the most popular hits with partly highly bizarre German lyrics almost 1: 1. This is where 32 incomparable
samples come together with stars of the time such as PETER KRAUS, TRUDE HERR, FREDDY QUINN, ANITA LINDBLO M, CONNY
