Going back more than 2000 years, Scottish Gaelic is one of the oldest European languages. In the late 19th century there was a Scots Gaelic revival where both the language and culture of Scotland blossomed. At the time, the recently born recording industry quickly echoed this popular interest and spread it internationally. Bill Dean-Myatt and Nigel Barrett have compiled this historic collection of early Scots Gaelic recordings which includes a 28 page llustrated booklet giving historic backgrounds to each track.
