At last, five years after "Die Andere Seite" (The Other Side), there's a sign of life from Traumhaus again - and it was worth the wait. None other than Jimmy Keegan (Spock's Beard, Santana) reinforced the band on drums! For a band that works exclusively with German lyrics it's not something you take for granted. "Das Geheimnis" (The Secret) is a lot more focussed on the songwriting. Ambitious, complex, poly-rhythmic compositions are contrasted with catchy melodies and hooks with a high recognition value. Many old-school prog elements can be heard on the new album, like walls of sound from Mellotrone and Minimoog. By far their strongest work so far is an incredible long track of 27 minutes - "Das Vermchtnis" (The Legacy), which deals with different perspectives of an egomaniac personality - the alternation of failure and perspective. This is embedded in the overall concept of "Das Geheimnis", the modest quest for self realisation in search of the key to our existence.
