This second volume in the Afro.Jazz.Folk Collection brings together 11 previously unreleased tracks, recorded by Super Biton between 1970 and 1980. Remastered by Raphael Jonin, they represent the Super Biton's trademark: a skilful blend of electric modernity and the enhancement of the Bambara cultural heritage, while remaining open to other influences, such as Cuban music. Hard to find nowadays and selected by the 3 remaining members of the group, Modibo Diarra, Mama Sissoko and Aboubacar Kissa (who recently passed away), these 11 tracks are a vibrant testimony to the musical effervescence that reigned in Segou and Mali in those years of overflowing cultural creativity, and a tribute to all the talented musicians who crossed the Super Biton route.
