Unbelievable. Its been twelve years now since Rocko Schamoni released his last solo album. Looking back on a carreer that started 35 years ago when he became notorious as the support act for German Punk heroes Die Toten Hosen and Die Goldenen Zitronen, Schamoni most certainly did not waste those years idly away. Apart from his second career as a writer (his bestseller "Dorfpunks" even got turned into one successful German movie), he also managed to keep the cult Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg alive, and he also kept busy musically in the Fraktus group and with his collaboration with the Orchester Mirage. "Musik fuer Jugendliche" (= "Music for young people") is his eighth proper solo album. Resulting from hundreds of aural sketches and fragments, the 9 songs (and one reprise) on the album move between Italo Pop a la Lucio Battisti, film score sound a la Morricone, and a dry Soul sound a la Michael Kiwanuka.
