Poison Idea
Young Lords: Live At The Metropolis
Heres a slice of a never-before offered Poison Idea live and in your face performance from 1982, titled Young Lords,
Live At The Met in Portland. This features the first semi-stable lineup of PI with Jerry A. Lang, the late Tom "Pig
Champion" Roberts, Glen Estes and Dean Johnson---the same aggregation that record Darby Crash Rides Again. Somehow, the
PI crew had gained the blessing of The Metropolis, an all-ages gay disco complete with a light up dancefloor, invited
Seattles The Fartz to open (first time in Portland and featuring a pre-GnR Duff McKagan) and served up some sounds not
previously heard. Apparently some substances, legal and otherwise, affected that evenings show as they ripped through
the dozen and a half rapid-fire songs all captured on Young Lords. The result is a solid precursor for the Poison Idea
sound we all know and love. This vinyl LP includes a booklet replete with pictures of the band at their young (lords)
age. Dig it!
