Parker, Nick
The King Of False Alarms
Glastonbury (UK) based singer/songwriter Nick Parker is to release his debut album in Europe. Nick Parker has been
touring Europe with various folk bands (Tobermory, The Gadabout Crowd) for half of his life. After the split of his band
The Gadabout Crowd Nick starts his solo career. His debut album The King Of False Alarms was recorded in a quiet holiday
cottage and engineered and produced by his former band mate Luke Stidson (Twin Falls). The result is a 12 track album
full of passionate, intensely played songs.
Although primarily an acoustic album, it also features lapsteel, cello, violin, harmonium, ukulele, recorder, piano,
electric guitars, drums, electric and double bass and of course, the obligatory blast on the harmonica. The subject
material ranges from the serious (marriage and the loss of loved-ones), to the not so serious (festivals and traffic
lights) while the lyrics tend to remain pretty much tongue-in- cheek throughout.
