Camping Swing is the new opus from the band Paho Saga, which comprises guitarists Pascal Masselon (who contributes half the album's titles) and Samson Schmitt (an unavoidable icon thanks to his virtuosity and elegance), together with Hono Winterstein, a rhythm-artisan who has been paired with the greatest, and the ever-pertinent Gino Roman on double bass. The new album combines brio and generosity in a delicious blend (savoured by so many fans of the genre), and it features notable guest artists in the persons of Marcel Loeffler, Dorado Schmitt and Franck Wolf, the cream of the crop on the current Lorraine scene that is revitalising gypsy swing: a living, popular genre, constantly renewed, and one of the most beautiful currents in European jazz.
