A Finn with an accordion, that quickly evokes associations with Kimmo Pohjonen. That is not unjustified because Palaanen is one student of Pohjonen. Yet he is certainly not a clone of his teacher. He also pushes the limits of his instrument works with samples. Yet his music sounds much more melodic and more harmonious than that of Pohjonen, alternated with sometimes raw, growling rough tracks. Paalanen sings occasionally, with a gritty growl that many death metal singers will envy. Highly recommended for the adventurous listener.
