"Eight Freedoms" are the first completed tracks in a series of musical works composed by ZACH BAROCAS (JAWBOX, CAMORRA, BELLS). Originally they were created on the basis of beats and recurring vocal harmonies, but have evolved organically and have been instrumentally enriched - each song exactly as it is required. BAROCAS was inspired and supported by friends and collaborators of NEW FREEDOM SOUND: J. ROBBINS (JAWABOX, BURNING AIRLINES, OFFICE OF FUTURE PLANS - piano, e-piano, organ), GORDON WITHERS (OFFICE OF FUTURE PLANS, JAWBREAKER ON CELLO - cello ), LENNY YOUNG (oboe) and MARK CISNEROS (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, flute, trombone and percussions) helped the "Eight Freedoms" to create their fascinating, idiosyncratic and session-like mix of jazz, pop, rock, world music and modern classical music.
