It was precisely from an idea of Aldo Mella that the 'ElectricFranco' project was born. A quartet of masterful musicians, and a record, that pay homage to Franco D'Andrea's work, with the intention of emphasising above all his authorial peculiarities. Mella has been playing with the Merano pianist for around twenty-three years and knows every human and artistic facet of him. Therefore, he knows very well that, in addition to interpretative and performing qualities that have already been widely and publicly celebrated, he also possesses an excellent compositional flair that often takes second place to his other prerogatives. There is, therefore, a need to recover this fundamental trait of his history, to highlight its specific weight. An aspect that is sometimes overlooked, but which represents a virtuous example of creativity, originality and openness to stylistic innovation, like few others in Italy.
