Live Footage is an American post rock duo formed in Brooklyn, NY, in 2007. The group consists of Mike Thies (drums and keys simultaneously) and Topu Lyo (cello thru multiple layers of effects and looping). The group began by composing music for a multi media dance and art performance in a Soho loft in 2007. From there they rehearsed in basements, self released multiple records and played hundreds of diy loft parties, art galleries, movie theatres, fashion shows and have toured through the USA, Asia and Europe. In 2010 they began a weekly Sunday residency at one of NYCs most iconic speakeasys (Apotheke) which has highly influenced their cinematic/hip hop sounds with much of the material being improvised. In between the weekly they spend their time composing and scoring documentaries from HBO to BET, UNICEF to Rag and Bone and many other high end brands
