"As a well advised reporter and ethnomusicologist, FranCois Jouffa has recognized in the materials brought by Bernard Plossu from his expedition with Moussa Hamidou an extraordinary source of knowledge concerning two nomadic peoples of Niger: the Fulanis Bororos and the Tuaregs. These peoples of Kamite origin, during their reunions generally held in the raining season, when "milk keeps flowing", experience the artistic, aesthetic and social functions of song, music, sung poems and praises. The present recordings offer an incomparable access to an ancestral tradition, preserved from our world's speed, and represent a whole section of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity."
