Since the release of their first album "La Vida Vive Vive" in March 2017 and a tour of more than 200 dates, the Kumbia Boruka has fulfilled its challenge by making the Old Continent vibrate with the iconic rhythm of Latin America, the Cumbia. It is also recalled that the artistic project, the fruit of a singular meeting between the Mexican accordionist Hernan Cortes, and the reggae singer Lyons Bob Sikou, quickly took a tasty turn with the arrival of passionate musicians from all over the Latin-American continent. There is obviously the dancing freshness of the accordion, the vibrating generosity of the vocals, the rock sound combined with the psyche resonance of the machines, the dazzling dynamism of the brass, all resting on a powerful rhythmic energy colored. The thematic substance of this album is resolutely contemporary, universal and respectful of the cumbia genre. The texts of Kumbia Boruka still claim as much sensitivity to the injustices of our sick and insane societies. Love is interpreted as an infallible antidote to sorrow and suffering. The perfect alchemy between the old school cumbia and Nu Cumbia guarantees, at every moment, an invitation to dance. The spirit of openness and sharing is another characteristic of Kumbia Boruka's personality. In this sense the album "El Remedio" is the result of beautiful artistic encounters. Philippe Teboul alias "Garbancito", musician of Mano Negra and Manu Chao, came to bring all his experience by injecting here and there an "underground" touch. The collaboration with Victor-Attila Vagh, producer of Flavia Coelho, brings a modern dimension to this music of the world. For this new album, Kumbia Boruka has also bet on the need for a legitimate recognition on its original lands. From then on the brass had to be recorded in Monterrey.
