Kelly Z's first solo release, 'Rescue' is a collection of 60's Rhythm and Blues produced, mixed and recorded by Chuck Kavooras. The instrumental tracks were recorded in 2011 but were abandoned by another vocalist and put away in a box. In 2017, Chuck brought in Kelly Z to complete the tracks and rescue them from never being heard by the public. Musicians featured on the album are Rick Reed, Bryan Head, John Marx, Mo Beeks, Barry Goldberg, Andy Najera, Stan Martin, Roy Weigand, Jack Wargo, Perry Robertson and Chuck Kavooras. Background vocals were completed by Teresa James, Shari Puorto and Lisa Orloff Stahley. The whole album was recorded on analog at SlideAway Studios and was released on CD on October 6, 2017. The tracks are covers of classics by James Brown, Michael Bloomfield, Tina Turner, Isaac Hayes and more.
