The first touring festival and one that remains a hugely popular annual event, Lollapalooza began in 1991 following
Janes Addiction front man Perry Farrells ambition of getting more young people to register to vote. Backed by all
manner of indie notables, from Nine Inch Nails to Siouxsie and the Banshees, the debut jaunt is still considered to be
the finest of all, not least because it was also Janes final tour - the band didnt play another Lollapalooza until both
the band and the festival reconvened in 2003, after a 6 year hiatus. Among the best shows on the 1991 tour was the one
played at Washington DCs Lake Fairfax Park, on 16th August. This release features Janes Addictions full set from that
days event, recorded for FM broadcast, and now available here for the first time on vinyl.
