Mike Dudley, the original drummer of THE SOUND, and the German wave heroes THE CONVENT form the great tribute project In2TheSound. The Convent has always been a big fan of The Sound. Convent- vocalist Carlo Van Putten and the long-dead singer of The Sound, Adrian Boland, created a deep friendship that culminated in various musical projects. When Mike Dudley, the original drummer of The Sound, asked Van Putten , whether to do something together for the 30th anniversary of the popular English wave band in 2017, he ran open doors with his request. Carlo was spontaneously enthusiastic about the idea, and his bandmates at The Convent were immediately there. So they met up with Dudley in the rehearsal room and rehearsed a full stage program made up entirely of THE SOUND titles. The Kulturzentrum Kleinbahnhof in Osterholz-Scharmbeck hosted the first appearance of In2TheSound on April 28, 2018, which was sold out right away. Once you've seen how easy and passionate this project celebrates the songs of The Sound, you can only take your hat off. It's just great. Authentic and independent! To the delight of their fans, the appearance in Osterholz-Scharmbeck was recorded and now appears on CD & LP. There has been a lot happening with In2TheSound, sold-out shows in Portugal, acclaimed gigs and more. at this year's Wave Gothic meeting in Leipzig, and it continues to be played and toured.
