AU (Alternate Universe) was recorded over several years and in various spaces, including HOTT MT's former home base, underground venue Non Plus Ultra. AU has been mixed by psych artist Morgan Delt (Sub Pop), and is loosely based on Michael Ende's novel "The Never-Ending Story." The album borrows themes from the book's lesser known and darker half. Sonically inspired by fantasy soundtracks and medieval arrangements, AU is a raw and youthful exploration of adolescence as it transforms into adulthood. AU is about times of change, specifically when your old reality has fallen apart but your new universe hasn't completely solidified yet, the album is a dramatization based on our experiences with those types of moments. It's a fantasy on a cloud of unknowing.' Released digitally in May 17th, on the band's Mutation imprint.
