The Horses Ha are Janet Bean (Freakwater, Eleventh Dream Day) and James Elkington (The Zincs, Jon Langfords Skull Orchard, Brokeback). On Waterdrawn, Bean and Elkington have crafted a stripped-down record that mirrors their without a net live performances; a collection of songs that harkens back to the British folk boom without replicating it and points the group in a new direction. The foundation of the record revolves around Beans country-tinged voice and Elkingtons folk-inspired guitar playing with a minimum of ornamentation. A decision was made early on: Embrace the space! Anything superfluous to requirements was left out or, more likely, recorded and then unrecorded. Waterdrawn is available as a limited edition gatefold lp or boutique CD.
