Black Box Theory continues the confident study in contrasts that has endeared Gretchens Wheel to audiences. Razor-edged guitars drive the albums opening salvo, "Untethered," as sweetly sung vocal harmonies float above. A bouncy rhythm underscores the melancholic sentiments of "The Maze."
