Frame, Gillian
Pendulum
Gillian Frame is a Scottish fiddle player who has worked with many acts, and was a founding member of Back of the Moon
with whom she toured for seven years, seeing them win various accolades including Best Up and Coming Act, then Best Folk
Band at the Scots Trad Music Awards. She was the BBC Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year in 2001, and is
currently working with Bella Hardy, Siobhan Miller and Findlay Napier.
Pendulum is a collection of songs and tunes that have cemented themselves into her repertoire over the last 15 or so
years; favourites from both her performing and teaching. Living Tradition Magazine describe Gillian as " an enviably
talented performer with a sure and considered touch on the fiddle and a dusky, breathy voice that has the gift of being
able to transport the listener straight to a Scottish fireside." The album features multi instrumentalist Anna Massie
(another former Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year) on Guitar Mandolin and Banjo, award winning bassist and
composer Euan Burton on Bass, Phil Hague of Admiral Fallow on percussion and a duet with rising star of the folk scene
Adam Holmes.
