The Hamburg-based musical duo Fjarill - Aino Lowenmark (piano, vocals) and Hanmari Spiegel (violin, vocals) have been together for 15 years, creating Scandinavian Vocal jazz, Pop music with lyrics in Swedish, World music from South Africa and Sweden. This gentle and powerful sound that comes from such a specific and unique place, has charmed audiences across Europe, Scandinavia and South Africa. Fjarills achievements are considerable - seven albums, World-Music awards and hundreds of concerts. MIDSOMMAR - an album consisting of original compositions, poems by Nobel Prize winner Par Lagerkvist, set to music by Fjarill and old Swedisch Folk songs, arranged with calm intensity, journeying into the depth of Lowenmarks home country. This old lyrik poetry receives a new spirit through lucent vocals, finely reduced piano and shimmering violin sounds.
