From his childhood in rural Mississippi, little Charlie Feathers was influenced by the Hill Country blues and bluegrass he heard played by his neighbours which gave him the idea to combine the styles to produce a more exciting form of country music. His recordings for the King label in 1956 are among the pinnacles of this rockabilly style and here are four alternative takes, every bit as good as the issued ones!
