The Fake Boys started in 2007 to keep certain bandmembers from wanting to kill themselves. After years of playing and releasing records in hardcore, they felt a need to return to making the music they grew up with. Hardcore is and always will be a close friend but they missed crafting melody and exploring the song writing experience that came with the music they settled down with at the end of the day. Blending the maturity of 90's pop punk a la Jawbreaker with the mind, body, and soul of 80's indie acts like Husker Du and Dinosaur JR. the Fake Boys set out to just write good songs. In the end it seems to come together in a loud, warm, 60's sort of way... very Beatles with a splash of Byrds, with melodies that float above a layer fuzz and love.
