Johanna Elina plays music that could be described as contemporary indie vocal jazz with an elegant pop twist. Johanna writes her own music and catches the tricky, lovely, thrilling, sad and sometimes painful emotions of everyday life. Besides Finland, she has lived, for periods of her life in Brazil, New Zealand, Hungary, Netherlands, and now in Denmark, Copenhagen.Johanna has studied jazz vocals in Finland, Holland and in the Rhythmic Music Conservatory of Copenhagen. She has performed and toured in jazz festivals around Europe and Brazil with her own music, and many other constellations. (e.g. IKI). Musicians of the band found each other in Copenhagen, even though their origins are in different corners of Europe. Every musician in the band has his own creative and personal touch, which makes the group sound fresh and unique.
