Put two brothers together, throw in some rock history, surround them with a seasoned cast of supporting artists, and you have the Dennis Mitchell Band. Dennis grew up watching his older brother Mike perform as a founding member of The Kingsmen ("Louie, Louie") and inspired by his brother performing to packed houses, pursued his own musical ambitions. Although listed as a blues/rock compilation, this is not "Stormy Monday". The blues rhythms are updated with a hard driving rock and roll edge that still manages to remain true to the roots of the music that has helped to inspire a generation of artists, from Elvis and the Beatles, to the Allman Brothers, to todays artists like Alicia Keyes, John Mayer and Joe Bonamassa. With guitars hinting of Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn, with the dexterity of a Satriani, the songs pursue an excellence in musicianship that stands head and shoulders above the "predictably involved" in todays music scene.
