The mood on "Jelly Banquet", De-Phazz's 17th studio album, with which the band celebrates their 25th anniversary, is
cheerful and relaxed. Host and sample scientist Pit Baumgartner agrees with Quincy Jones: "If you bring together,
you can only win anything that doesn't go together." He mixes rock tubes with church choirs and alphorn with ethnobjazz,
sprinkles new tunes with retro splinters of sound and thus makes the extraordinary voices shine even more.
Alongside old acquaintances such as Pat Appleton, Karl Frierson, Barbara Lahr and Sandie Wollasch are new musical
guests, as are Carol Schuler ("Tatort" commissioner from Switzerland), blues rock icon Inga Rumpf and David
Thomas (Pere Ubu).
