Despite this hallowed company, our boys remained resolutely in command, emerging as gifted writers, arrangers and performers in the process. Of Cabbages And Kings was their finest half hour, bursting with invention and experimentation just witness the sidelong Progress Suite for proof of their ambition. This creative explosion carried on through their next album, the even more dazzling The Ark (coming soon from Rev-Ola) and then was gone forever.
