Brown Shoe is made up of the Baggaley four brothers named and Chandler Clemons who might as well be a brother. Their music has been described as an imaginatively dense soundscape alongside steady awe-inspiring rhythms and uplifting melodies. Their previous three albums received broad radio play, charted on CMJ, and garnered numerous TV placements. Their sound has drawn comparisons to Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Mumford and Sons, R.E.M., and The National. Brown Shoe has crisscrossed North America a number of times, playing festivals, clubs, and colleges, winning over a diverse fan base across the country. After three back-to-back national tours in support of Jackalope, Brown Shoe decided it was time to begin recording the manically expansive and treacherous tale, The Gift Horse.
