Brain Dead is an old school Thrash Metal Band hailing from Ivrea, a small town not too far away from Turin in Northern Italy. The band was founded in May 2000. Taking their inspiration from the Bay Area Thrash sound from the 80s (mainly Exodus, Annihilator, Testament, and Slayer), Brain Dead tried to stand out from the crowd and to create their own sound. Their 1st demo "Rage of Thrash" was released in Sept. 2013, and their 2nd demo "Double Face" in March 2013. The 2nd demo also saw a drastic rise in quality both in respect to the production and the songs themselves. In November 2008 signed up with Punishment 18 Records for the release of their 1st album "In the Deep of Vortex". Also, supported Whiplash, and Artillery during the "Hellbrigade Fest". After playing at the "Metal Thrashing Mad Fest" in December where they played with Italy's best Thrash Metal bands such as Ancient Dome, Kernel, Endovein, and Motam, the band started to work on their 2nd album. In summer 2012 Davide Ricca joined the band in order to replace Danilo Bonusco and proved to be crucial in the writing of new songs. April 2013 saw another line-up change when Haron Zorzi left for personal reasons in order to be replaced by Alberto Rossetti. This did not stop the band from working on their new album under the guidance of Carlo "Fajo" Girardi though and the release is expected to be released by Punishment 18 Records coming autumn!
