After the outstanding debut "White Creatures" and the equally great EP "No Fire In The Sand", Zurich native BLACK SEA DAHU is back with their second album. Contemporary indie / urban folk with a lot of heart and power. "I Am My Mother" will be released on CD and Vinyl LP on MOUTHWATERING RECORDS. In the beginning there was the poem: JANINE CATHREIN wrote and wrote, fascinated by the fact of putting feelings into words and being able to touch them. She would probably have ended up in journalism or with the violin at the conservatory, but the guitar came into play: as soon as she plucked a new world opened up to her. From then on, the Zurich bicycle courier practiced and composed non-stop, combining her words with sounds: the origin of BLACK SEA DAHU. That name connects CATHREIN's love of surfing with the Swiss mythical creature Dahu, which has legs of different lengths - a longing as well as weird image. The songs were performed on trips and a band was put together, which also includes her siblings. The combination results in wonderful, polyphonic singing with CATHREIN's dark, warm voice as a trademark, accompanied by cello, guitar, bass, keys and drums. Music that touches, gives strength and is authentic and noticeable because real people are at work here. And regardless of the future prospects, one thing is clear: in the end, the music remains.
