Bedpost Orcale
Break Of Dawn
The first ever compilation of recordings by this heavy garage-psyche band from California, featuring single sides as
well as previously unissued material. Founded in 1967, Bedpost Oracle released its first 7-inch, 'The Break Of Dawn'
(b/w 'Love Isn't Dead'), in 1969. Inm these days the band was a quartet featuring lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and
keyboards. In the summer of 1970 the band added a female lead vocalist in order to add a dynamic Jefferson Airplane-like
vibe to the overall sound. This line-up would become responsible for the better known Bedpost sound. The band continued
with playing cover versions of songs which groups such as Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience and Grand Funk Railroad had
popularized. Two more 45s were released including 'Somebody To Love'/'Chest Fever'. The tracks from the 45s are on Side
A of this album, while the B-side contains a mind blowing Jimi Hendrix inspired jam from 1972. This impressive release
is a must have for all late '60s-early '70s psych fans and collectors.
