The Appetizers are an Italian band born in Milan in 2020 with a fresh sound that grows from the roots of classic Reggae and Rocksteady music. Inspired by the great Jamaican groove masters and lyricists such as Sound Dimension, Jackie Mittoo, Delroy Wilson, early Wailers and Upsetters, and influenced by black American artists - like James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, The Meters, Sly & the Family Stone - the group creates its own music with fresh and organic vibes. Their first original album titled "Listen Up!" is a 10-track banger with Reggae/Funk scorchers and soulful vocals in 60s and 70s spirit. The music flows through organ dub cuts with toasting on top, hypnotic Funk guitars and clavinet grooves, and comes back to the roots of sweet Rocksteady riddims in a creative and stylistic mix of sounds and lyrics.
